about

Promville Founder, Small Business Owner & Entrepreneur: Scarlett Godinez-Dumadag

Promville's Prom Dress Drive & Prom Dress Giveaway

The purpose of Promville's Prom Dress Drive and Giveaway events is to be able to assist teenage girls afford the opportunity to attend their High School Junior and Senior Prom.  The goal has always been to reach as many girls in need and help send them to prom.  Over the years, Promville  is devoted to raising awareness and continue to work closely with the community to promote this program.

Promville understands the rising cost of attending prom, from purchasing tickets, doing your hair, make-up, nails, lashes, photos, flowers, shoes, transportation and probably the most important and most expensive item on the budget is the prom dress.

According to Huffington Posts, an average prom cost $324 but it could run anywhere from $175 to $2,100 depending on their budget and every year it’s getting more elaborate and expensive. USA Today says that the average American family spent $600 on prom in 2017.

the promville story

How It All Began

Promville was born in 2013 by founder, Scarlett Godinez-Dumadag, who shared personal experiences of coming from a financially disadvantaged home and growing up with a single parent that made it challenging to cover cost for prom, so she took on the role of Prom Chairperson at Farrington High School during her Junior and Senior Year.  She believed that attending prom was an important milestone in child's life.

When she opened Beautiville Spa & Cafe in 2010, she decided to live her dream and help other girls in similar situations by creating these events and experiences to giveback to the community.

"The beauty of these events is the gift of giving that just goes in circles," she explained. "The girls who received dresses are grateful, then they either save their dress for another girl afterward or save up for a dress to donate. This is the focus: to encourage charitable giving, promote inner beauty and bring out their self confidence."
